today i decided to rebuild the mythology-and-
-religion section in the TV room. and got as
far as what you see when it occurred to me to
photograph the darn thing. there’ve been a
bunch of cinderblock bricks sitting out front
since i moved in a year ago. some of ’em’ll
be, anyway, indoors today… maybe even hold-
ing up boards etcetera. meanwhile, i’ll’ve
annotated a bunch more of _henry_iv_part_2
(the “hollow crown” version [what i like to
call “the lokiad” (since it stars tom hid-
in the hal-of-the-henriad role)]).
madeline’ll have returned with yet another
load of yummy groceries. i’ll’ve put ’em
away and prepared some. which reminds me.
the low-key ad just ended and i’m kind of

the linking and not-linking rings

the drying rack supporting the forks here
began life as one of a set of, i think,
four, held together (badly) as a single
shelving-unit-thingee and stayed that way
until i pulled the whole thing apart (with-
out exactly meaning to). usually it holds
up a bamboo cutting board next to the toast-
er and provides a space to shove the dirty
silver. it’ll’ve been visible in several
shots hitherto but i’m lazy to look ’em up.
meanwhile, the siverware-process is in flux.
look into the future for more on this fasci-
nating topic. (if i ever post the link.)
meanwhile, here are some more books (and
stuff). most of the shakespeare (the videos
are in the viewing-chamber along with one
of the one-volume _complete_works_es and a
double of the “_introducing_…such-and-
-such]_”-series volume). a small fraction
of the comics. madeline’s borromean rings.

examine other beauties

romeo (leonard whiting) and juliet (olivia hussey) are shirtless in a shot from this preview of franco zefirelli’s eyecandy masterpiece (1968). the shot’s at about 1:34 on the CD and reveals that r is shirtless down to his heels (and j, fleetingly, to below the chest).

2 Henry VI, IV.vii

Posted by vlorbik on November 24, 2009

everybody always cites, the first thing
we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.
but the scariest thing in cade’s rebellion
as presented in shakespeare for me is
“burn all the records of the realm.
my mouth shall be the parliament
of england.”.

because, like i keep tellin ya.
it’s a hardcopy holocaust out there
what with everything being turned into
bits and pulp and landfill.
libraries closing or turning into
data processing stations.
entire university departments…
life support systems for libraries…
being sent to retraining by
human resources zombies with
really good benefits packages.
shred your records at the earliest
opportunity was the law of the land
where *i* was last employed
and i don’t think it’s unusual.
cf whatever rant i posted a while
back about paper bank checks disappearing.

this is how “populist” dictators win.
democratic kampuchea probably the
textbook case of “purge the intellectuals”
but they all do it. it’s farenheit 451
all around us every day so dig it please
and hoard whatever books you think
anybody might want to get a look at later.
